Meet us @ ISC'14 in Leipzig/Germany: Booth # 940

Booth Nr. 940 - GCS @ ISC'14 in Leipzig

The Gauss Centre for Supercomputing will participate again in the International Supercomputing Conference 2014 (ISC’14) to be held at CCL Leipzig from June 22 to 26. For the third year running, GCS will be present at the event with a joint booth (# 940) where visitors will receive comprehensive information about the latest HPC projects the GCS centres HLRS (High Performance Computing Center, Stuttgart), JSC (Jülich Supercomputing Centre), and LRZ (Leipzig Supercomputig Centre) are supporting.

During the Conference Opening Session on Monday, June 23, Prof. Michael M. Resch (HLRS), Chairman of the GCS board of directors, will announce the winners of the noted Gauss Award, chosen earlier by a Gauss Award Committee from all papers accepted for the ISC’14 Research Paper Sessions.

Highlights of the presentations include demonstrations of a wide spectrum of scientific results obtained with the GCS HPC systems in 2D presentation videos and animations. Furthermore, visitors are invited for a hands-on Augmented Reality demonstration analyzing simulation results of the airflow and pressure distribution around a 3D scanned triathlete on his racing bicycle.

On Tuesday, June 24 and Wednesday, June 25 repetitively -- during the regular coffee breaks of the ISC conference -- members of the LRZ Garching staff will give short presentations at the GCS booth (#940) on the following subjects:

10:45am - 10:55am: Introducing the Intel Parallel Computing Centre at LRZ
10:55am - 11:05am: Extreme Scaling on SuperMUC
11:05am - 11:15am: SuperMUC Phase 2
04:30pm - 04:40pm: Energy Aware Scheduling
04:40pm - 04:50pm: Autotune
04:50pm - 04:00pm: SeisSol on SuperMUC
