Special Event/Conference Session: German HPC in Context

Professor Dr. Michael M. Resch of HLRS, Chairman of the GCS board of directors, will be giving a presentation about the future of German HPC as it moves toward exascale. The special session, titled "German HPC in Context" takes place on Tuesday, June 26 at 12:30 in room Panorama 2.

Gauss Award for Best Technical Paper

During ISC's Monday opening session, GCS will also be presenting this year's winner of the Gauss Award. The paper selected as the winner of the Gauss Award at ISC 2018 is: On the Accuracy and Usefulness of Analytic Energy Models for Contemporary Multicore Processors by Johannes Hofmann, Georg Hager, and Dietmar Fey. The award winner will also present a keynote talk on their paper during the research paper session on Monday, 5.30pm.

GCS Supports 3 Student Cluster Competition Teams

For the first time, GCS will be sponsoring all three German university teams Germany in this year’s student cluster competition at ISC. The teams represent the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, the University of Hamburg, and the University of Heidelberg.
