How to apply for computing time at GCS

Supercomputers of GCS: SuperMUC of LRZ (top), Hazel Hen of HLRS (bottom, left), JUWELS of JSC (bottom, right)

All scientists and researchers in Germany and Europe have access to GCS computing resources. Computing time allocations are allocated based on scientific criteria through independent reviewers in a peer-review process on the national level

  1. through the executive committees and allocation committees of the three GCS centres,
  2. through biannual public announcement from GCS (calls for large-scale projects), and
  3. on the European level through the PRACE regular calls for projects (also biannual).

As a result, researchers have a variety of optimal access routes to GCS resources, depending on their project size.
