Networks

The Gauss locations are today connected by very high-speed communication lines like the 10 Gbit/s DEISA special purpose network. In a project funded by BMBF they will soon start tests with 40 Gbit/s equipment. This will enable completely new services and applications.

Through the well-established national research network the Gauss Centre will also have excellent communication links to the German universities and research laboratories, in particular to all other important computing and data centres.
