GCS-Sponsored SC16 Student Teams Make the News
Newsflash –

Two German undergraduate teams are in the news for their inclusion in the 2016 Student Cluster Competition, a 48-hour challenge held on the SC16 showground. The two teams will be the only teams from Europe competing this year.

The sponsoring of two German Student Teams for the SC16 Student Cluster Competition by the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing enjoyed the attention of the international High Performance Computing (HPC) media (see links at bottom of page). At this year's Supercomputing Conference (SC), which takes place in Salt Lake City, Utah (11/13-18, 2016), two teams of undergraduate students from German universities - Team segFAUlt of the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and team PhiClub of Technical University of Munich (TUM) - are participation in the annually recurring non-stop, 48-hour challenge held on the SC showground. The two German teams, which are the only European reprsentatives in this global competition, are competing at SC16 with teams from the USA (6), China (3), Singapore, Taiwan and Colombia.
