GCS Hosts Second Industry Day at JSC
Newsflash 08/2025 –

Event showcases the role of HPC centers in supporting industrial and commercial supercomputing and artificial intelligence applications.

On May 6, 2025, the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS) – together with the Chambers of Commerce of Aachen, Cologne, and Middle Lower Rhine, and the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) – hosted the second GCS Industry Day.

More than 50 participants from outside organizations participated in a full day of discussions and presentations from supercomputing and AI experts aimed at highlighting the myriad ways that supercomputing, modeling and simulation, and artificial intelligence can positively impact their companies and how industry can more effectively access these resources at a public HPC facility.

The day’s highlight came from presentations from three industry professionals who successfully used JSC computing facilities to positively impact their organization or its research and development efforts. These presentations led to discussions and idea exchanges between the presenters and the attendees in the subsequent podium discussions and networking section of the event. Participants further benefited from information booths about current projects aimed at supporting companies, such as the JUPITER AI Factory, which could ultimately help their own future efforts to accelerate innovation, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

At the end of the presentations, participants toured JSC’s computer room as well as the exascale supercomputer JUPITER.
