22nd Call for Large-Scale Projects Open
Newsflash 06/2019 –

The 22nd call for GCS Large-Scale Projects on the three GCS HPC systems Hazel Hen of LRZ, SuperMUC-NG of LRZ, and JUWELS of JSC has been opened. Scientists can now apply for computing time until August 5, 2019, 17:00hrs

The 22nd call for GCS large-scale projects has been issued. Scientists can apply for computing time on the three GCS HPC Systems installed at the High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS), the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre at Garching near Munich (LRZ), until August 5, 2019, at 17:00hrs. Eligible for "Large-Scale" projects, which require in total at least 35 million core-hours per year on the GCS HPC systems, are applications from German universities and publicly funded German research institutions.

For further details on how to apply for computing time, please see here.

The HPC systems of the GCS centres, availble to serve the researchers, are the following:

  • High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS): Hazel Hen (Cray XC40 system)
  • Leibniz Supercomputing Centre, Garching (LRZ): SuperMUC-NG (Intel-Lenovo OceanCat platform equipped with 6,336 compute nodes with Intel Skylake processors and OmniPath interconnect)
  • Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC): JUWELS (cluster module, equipped with 2,559 compute nodes with Intel Skylake processors and 192 NVidia V100 SXM2 GPUs)
