Visit our Centres at SC25 – HPC Ignites!
15/Newsflash –

As the largest annual HPC conference gets set to kick off in the United States, representatives of the three GCS centres are preparing for an active week of discussions, networking, and presentations.

The International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis, or SC25 for short, takes place this year Nov. 16–21 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

Each year, the SC conference series provides the leading technical program for the high-performance computing (HPC) community. The program is designed to share best practices in all areas of HPC. Representatives from all three Gauss Centre for Supercomputing (GCS) centres will actively contribute to various sessions and panels within the program.

At the exhibition, centres get the opportunity to meet and interact with representatives from industry, research organizations, universities, and startups joining the event from across the globe. The High-Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS), Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), and Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) will showcase cutting-edge technologies, products, and services to thousands of attendees. Furthermore, visitors have the chance to take part in the SC25 European HPC Stamp Collection, featuring 13 European HPC organizations. The drawing for a chance to win exciting prizes takes place on Thursday at 11:30 AM at the ETP4HPC booth.

HLRS staff will be at booth#726. The centre will give insights into the latest developments in HPC, AI, high-performance data analytics (HPDA), digital twins and their coordinating role in the European AI Factory, HammerHAI. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the centre’s latest supercomputer, Hunter, and the sustainable supercomputing strategy that is guiding the planning for the future supercomputer, Herder. On Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 3:00 local time, the centre, together with technology partners HPE and AMD, is hosting a happy hour at the HLRS booth. For a full list of HLRS’s activities and the center’s staff participating in SC25, please visit the center’s event page.

LRZ has joined forces with other research colleagues in Bavaria to host a Bavarian HPC experience on the conference floor. At booth #535, LRZ colleagues will be joined by HPC enthusiasts from the Technical University of Munich, the Ludwigs-Maximillians-Universität in Munich, the Munich Quantum Valley, and NHR at Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen to showcase the center’s advancements in sustainable HPC solutions and showcasing how Bavaria is turning ideas into impact – and bits into brilliance together with technology partners like Q.ANT or IQM. A full list of LRZ’s activities and participation in the program can be found on the center’s event page.

JSC will be represented at booth#505. The center’s motto, “Unleashing Next-Gen Computing Power!” highlights some of the topics the center will focus on: HPC tools, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, information on JSC’s role in various European projects and collaborations, and, of course, the latest information on the first European exascale supercomputer, JUPITER, which had entered the Top500 list in June 2025. Talks by JSC’s partners D-Wave, Pasqal and Q.ANT at the booth are scheduled as well. Details and times of the JSC’s activities in the program can be found on the center’s event page.
