GCS Centres Join Other Global HPC Leaders at SC17
Newsflash –

The three GCS centres HLRS, JSC, and LRZ are participating in this year's Supercomputing Conference (SC17) from November 12 -17, in Denver, Colorado (USA).

The three member centres of the Gauss Centre for Supercomputing - the High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS), the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), and the Leibniz Supercomputing Centre Garching/Munich - will present their research activities in the field of high-performance computing (HPC) on their respective booths at this year's Supercomputing Conference (SC17), which takes place in Denver, Colorado, USA, from November 12 to 17, 2017:

  • HLRS at booth no. 417
  • JSC at booth no. 401
  • LRZ at booth no. 875

Apart from showcasing their current research activites, user projects, and presenting the latest scientific findings, for which the HPC systems Hazel Hen (HLRS), JUQUEEN (JSC), and SuperMUC (LRZ) serve(d) as computing platforms, representatives of the three GCS centres have active parts in the conference leg of the convention by hosting workshops, tutorials, and/or birds-of-a-feather events, or acting as speakers in various SC sessions.

General Chair of SC17: Dr. Bernd Mohr of JSC

This year's version of the annually recurring supercomputing event that will be attended by HPC experts from all over the world will be coordinated by Dr. Bernd Mohr of the Jülich Supercomputing Centre. With Bernd Mohr having been elected as General Chair of SC17, it will be the first time that a non-American chairs the most important HPC conference.
